Cooper Gets His Man

The transfer of Steve Hislop to Gillingham has been completed, with the trnsfer fee of £50,000 being suspended until He has played for six months.

Hissy said “They’ve a great set-up and boss Neale Cooper was the man who signed me from East Stirling for Ross County. I’m going to room with my former County team-mate Tony Bullock”

“My happiest times have been at Inverness, so it is a big wrench.”

We would like to whish Steve all the best and thank him for his contribution to Inverness Caley Thistle. Let’s just hope that he doesn’t pick up any bad habits from his new roommate.

Meanwhile Richard Hastings has penned a one-year extension to his current contract, which will keep the Canadian internationalist at the club for another 2 years. Barry Wilson also looks set to sign an extension to his contract before the transfer window re-opens in January.

Brewster was quoted as saying “I told him he still has a big part to play here because, when he is fit and hungry, he is a big asset,”

There have been rumours of Barry heading over the bridge to team up with ex-Jags boss John Robertson but he insists that he would be delighted to extend his stay at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, saying “I would, definitely consider another year at Caley – I have no qualms about that. Hopefully, we’ll get something tied up soon”

With the departure of Hislop and Prunty, Brewster had hinted that we may yet see another new face down the Longman. However he has now said that he is no longer actively looking to increase the size of the squad. Perhaps this is because he has realised why, returning legend, Dennis Wyness, is such a fans favourite.

He said of our very own prodigal son “Dennis does some classy things and set up our third goal with a mazy run, then scored with a fine strike himself”

He does indeed do some classy things and with Brewster’s undoubted finishing ability and Dargo’s skill and work rate, we have a forward line that must surely be the envy of a few SPL clubs.
