Jamie Cade, a product of Middlesbrough’s excellent youth academy, has arrived in Inverness for a trial with Caley Thistle. With Craig Brewster making no secret of the fact that he would like to attract young, hungry players to the club. Cade, along with Parrat, would seem to fit the bill.
Jamie arrived at Middlesbrough as a recognised defender and already part of the England set up. However, as he progressed through the ranks of the youth academy and continued to represent England at various levels, his potential as a forward was recognised and developed. Indeed it was in this position that he played, when he made his first team debut against Ipswich in the Worthington cup. This game, in November 2002, was to be his only first team appearance and in an attempt to continue his development, Boro loaned him out to Chesterfield. After 2 months and 10 appearances, Jamie felt it was time to move on and he was allowed to join Colchester on a free transfer.
Jamie’s first full season at the U’s has seen him make 5 first team starts as well as a regular start in the reserves. Although he has failed to score for the first team, he has been scoring regularly for the reserve team including a double hatrick against Crawley Town in October.
A player with a fine pedigree and we wish him well in his endeavours to impress Brewster in the coming weeks.
