CALEY JAGS gaffer Terry Butcher will have one eye on next season when selecting his line-ups for Caley Thistle’s remaining five matches of the Scottish Premier League campaign.
With 15 players out of contract at Inverness at the start of June, Butcher is set to utilise his full squad during the run-in as he steps up his preparations for the 2011-12 season.
Youngsters Gavin Morrison and Shane Sutherland are expected to be offered new contracts, but Butcher has yet to begin discussions with the more senior players who include the likes of Tokely, Duff, Grant Munro, Chris Hogg, Russell Duncan and Adam Rooney, who will be out of contract in the summer.
This suggests a large player turnover during the summer, so the gaffer is likely to select players who will remain at the club next term.
However Butch is also desperate to finish in seventh position and end what has been a promising campaign on a high.
“It’s not so much about experimenting, but we do need to start looking at next season,” he told the Inverness Courier. “The good thing is that there’s no pressure on the lads now after just missing out on top six.
“They know they’ll get more bonus money if we finish seventh, as will the club, so that is our only target.”
