Tom Parratt, a Scotland U19 player, has agreed to a two and half year deal with Inverness Caley Thistle. Parratt, born in Inverness, grew up in the USA, where his dad (Ian) is a director of the Iowa City Alliance Soccer Club.
Tom arrived back in the UK on a football scholarship when he was 15 to play for a very successful Birmingham City U16 team. Sub sequentially Tom has risen through the ranks at Birmingham and played in the reserves this season, when he was asked to mark the likes of Henrik Pederson.
Tom has also broken into the Scotland set up, representing his country at U19 level. Despite all this he was released by Birmingham and invited for a trial at ICT.
Parratt impressed the management team on trial and was watched by Brewster at an U19 international.
He may be one for the future but with this sort of experience behind him, I do not think we need fear Tom being used as cover during the coming season.
