Inverness Caledonian Thistle chairman George Fraser praised the leadership of manager Terry Butcher and assistant Maurice Malpas for their promotion.Caley Thistle will return to the Scottish Premier League at the first attempt after a 1-0 win by Raith Rovers over title rivals Dundee on Wednesday.
"Terry and the boys have done a great job," Fraser told BBC Scotland after the Division One title was secured.
"There has been great leadership from these guys to take us back again."
Inverness had been forced to make major cutbacks after they were relegated last season and were 15 points behind big-spending Dundee at one stage, before a 19-game unbeaten run created an unassailable lead of their own.
"When you come back down into the SFL, the financial thing is very, very difficult. He was really rebuilding a team from last year," said Fraser.
It is absolutely brilliant for everybody connect with the club, everybody connected with Inverness and everybody connected with the Highlands
Inverness chairman George Fraser
"We lost a number of influential players, a few people came in and it does take time to gel together.
"But the team have shown, once they got that spirit and that confidence in them and played with a settled side, you can see the number of goals we have scored have been exceptional.
"We did not see this coming at Christmas. But, once we got into our stride, it has been excellent."
Butcher and Malpas were appointed at the Caledonian Stadium last January but were unable to prevent their relegation last season and, until that late swing, it looked like another season in Division One was on the cards.
"The experience these two chaps have and what they have achieved in football, for them to come to Inverness in the first place was a great coup for us," said Fraser.
"For them to dedicate themselves to the club for another year if we remained in the SFL was fantastic. It just shows what Inverness means to them."
Fraser believes the significance of Caley Thistle's return to the SPL went far beyond the stands of Caledonian Stadium.
"It's absolutely brilliant for everybody connect with the club, everybody connected with Inverness and everybody connected with the Highlands," he said.
"I think, as far as Inverness having an SPL club, it's so important for the profile of the whole area.
"And we do feel after last year missing out, and it was so close, to bounce right back again is exception because it does not happen very often.
"It is a tough league, the SFL, and we are so pleased with everybody connected with the club."
