Craig Dargo first made his name at Raith Rovers, where he was a prolific scorer and a regular in the Scotland under 21 team. In July 2000, Kilmarnock were persuaded to part with £100,000 to take him to Rugby Park. The fee must have seemed like the deal of the century as Dargo had a great first season with, perhaps the highlight being the goal in the league cup semi against St Mirren. To refresh your memory and inform our younger readers, Craig picked up the ball in his own half and carried it all the way up the park before calmly slotting the ball into the back of the net.
A bright future was being predicted for the young man from Edinburgh but the last four seasons have not been kind to Craig. Blighted by injury, Craig has been forced to sit on the sidelines more often than he, or Kilmarnock would like. That is the dilemma that now faces Brewster. Dargo has undoubtedly got the skill to add something to our attack but has he put his injury problems behind him.
