CALEY JAGS boss Terry Butcher has been linked with the recently vacated Aberdeen manager's job.
Butcher has had an amazing start to ICT's return to the SPL, with the side sitting in fourth place and remaining unbeaten away from home all season including keenly-fought draws at Ibrox and Celtic Park in recent weeks.
Billy Stark and Gordon Strachan are top of the bookies' lists for the Aberdeen job, but Butcher has been placed at around 10/1 to succeed Mark McGhee.
However Aberdeen fans would not be happy with Butcher taking over as their team's manager because the Caley Thistle gaffer had a playing career with their great rivals Rangers.
Jeremy Wood of the Aberdeen Supporters Trust told the Scotsman: "What the fans will be concerned about now is landing one of the usual suspects which are always bandied about. The likes of John Hughes and Terry Butcher would not be popular choices."
