Hat-trick hero Adam Rooney bragged 'I told you so' after leading Inverness to a 4-2 Clydesdale Bank Premier League triumph against Hibernian.
The 22-year-old's second-half treble added to Richie Foran's early opener in a win that propelled Inverness to fourth in the table and allowed him to show off to manager Terry Butcher.
The visitors displayed spirit with goals from Derek Riordan and Liam Miller but it was Rooney's man-of-the-match display which extended Hibs' winless streak at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.
Butcher said: "I said to Adam before the game that Connor Sammon had scored two goals for Kilmarnock against Rangers at lunchtime and I asked 'what are you going to do about that then?'
"He said, 'I'm going to have to score three, aren't I?' and I said 'that would be nice'.
"But it just shows the confidence that he's got and the ability he's got and if you give him opportunities he's going to hit the target."
