History of the Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Heart Of Midlothian fixture

Inverness CT prepare to entertain Heart Of Midlothian at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium on Saturday afternoon, aiming to preserve their record of never having lost at home to the visitors.

However Caley Thistle’s only home game against Hearts took place at Pittodrie, in December 2004, where the two sides shared the spoils courtesy of a 1-1 final score line in a Scottish Premier match. At that time Hearts were managed by ex Caley Thistle boss, John Robertson and were fighting it out with their city rivals for a place in Europe. Robbo, now manager of our neighbours over the bridge, can only imagine what could have been as Hearts sit 5 points clear at the top of the league and Caley Thistles sit within the top 6.

Hearts, under George Burley, have been a revelation this year. They have yet to drop a point and have been scoring freely. Brewster has, quite rightly, identified Skacel as the main danger man for Hearts but the Caley Thistle player/manager has scored just as many goals as the Czech and his presence must surely be a worry to the Hearts defence.

Caley Thistle’s performance in their last game was, by Brewster’s own admission, the worst this season and having to bounce back from that against the form team in the league, will be a very hard task.

Recent respective form guides

Inverness Caledonian Thistle's dreadful home form has resulted in just 1 victory and 1 draw from their last six played. The goals for column just outweighs the goals against over this period, 9 to 8.

Hearts's away form, by contrast, is looking good, picking up four victories from the last six. Those games have seen the Jambo's pummel 14 goals, and let in 7.

Inverness CT's 8 points from 6 games sees them lie inside the top half of the table, in 6th position. Hearts are leading the way in the Bank of Scotland Scottish Premier, with their 6 games giving them a return of 18 points.

FootyMad's prediction ...

Nothing seems to be going right for the Caley Thistle at home recently, but the Jambo's must be worried, as they have denied us the services of Dennis Wyness. The Jags record against Hearts is good and I predict an end to the Jambo's 100% record. Score draw
