County May Share

In order to gain promotion Ross County would need 2000 extra seats and have under-soil heating installed by the march 31st deadline. Unless they ground share and we can confirm that they have had an offer to do just that at the Longman.

Greame Bennet, the Caley Jags director of football has said “We’ve talked to County and we are willing to let them share the stadium for six months, till they get the necessary work done.”

Peter Swanson, County chairman, has indicated that his club would be very interested in sharing Tulloch Caledonian Stadium should they win the right to play in the SPL.

“We’re delighted with the offer and certainly wouldn’t rule it out. After all Caley managed it very successfully at a much longer distance.”

Swanson added “We’re already talking to contractors about cost and time tables for 2000 new seats and under-soil heating.

However ex Jag’s manager, John Robertson, was reluctant to discuss the prospect of Ross County playing their home games at his old stomping ground.

He said “We’re top after four games but that’s a very long way from winning the title. Being honest, I think we’re a bit short of that at the moment.”

Robbo went on to stress that his team would be giving the title their best shot but there are 32 more games to go and his first priority is the game against St Johnstone on Saturday
